Water Breaks

In the event of a water break in our Municipality we ask that you please check the Website & Facebook Page for updates. For large scale water breaks we make sure that a notice goes to the local radio stations to be announced on the news. The radio stations to tune into are:
- CFRY 920AM
- Mix 96.5
- Country 93.1

We will do our best to contact as many people via mail, email or a hand delivered letter.  It is imperative that we have your updated contact information including:
-Current phone numbers
-Current mailing address
-Current email address

When the water break is repaired those residences affected may be under a precautionary boil water advisory until we receive two clean water samples in a 48 hour period. Notification that the boil water advisory is lifted we will be reissued to the public and posted via Facebook and the Website

The boil water advisory states that all water used for consumption should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute before it is used for:
- Drinking and/or ice making
- Preparing beverages, such as infant formula
- Preparing food, including washing fruits/vegetables
- Brushing teeth

It is NOT necessary to boil tap water for other household purposes such as laundry or washing dishes.  Adults and older children that are able to avoid swallowing water can wash, bathe, or shower.  Young children should be sponge bathed.
